Nectarine

The unlikely X-man
visits, unbumbling and unsung,
to take payment
for its midwifery.
Pollen dandruff on his costume
showered in transit
takes life  - bloom to bloom
in cycle of time and generation.
The drone of a million wingbeats
zzips the air on solstice day -
fertility on in the breeze.
How unlikely are you
a wingÄ“d barrel with ‘go faster’ stripe !
But, touched with God’s grace
you too cherish life.

I'm leaving my comment here rather than with the chain previously. I really do appreciate your poetry. It is not the gift I have.
