a fellow well met

a fellow well met

In the crossing and uncrossing of paths,
your greeting with the fleeting of a tongue
and the silent waiting stillness,
asks if I am to be trusted.
The wariness of wiley experience
shadows each footstep
each fresh taste of air.
Yet still you welcome the future
exuberant, vibrant, a fellow well met
and dazzle, headlong,
headstrong into its void.
