Remembrance Sunday 2009

And I could cry a million tears,
and poppies fall like rain,
if all the death and sacrifice
had only been in vain.
Ninety years have passed and gone
since that first hopefilled day
but fear and fighting still survive
in blood along the way.
Fools and heroes fill the graves
of soldiers sent to die
yet fools and villains still remain
to stir the battle cry.
Novembers come, Novembers go;
grey skies and Autumn leaves.
But faith and love and hope live on
for those who can believe.
And I could cry a million tears,
and poppies fall like rain,
if all the death and sacrifice
had only been in vain.

Keith, I thought it was beautiful... I especially liked "And" and the (for want of a better word) chorus... I wouldn't change a thing :)
The use of the word "And" is so perfect somehow, making it ever continuous, a part of a far longer story...

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment. I'm glad you found something you liked! I intend to update far more regularly in the future. Hope you keep coming back :)

Excellent Keith.

I see you have a tremendous gift.

When I'm next stuck for some lyrics, I'm gonna come knocking on your door!

Rob
