Silk against satin

Silk against satin

A drip of colour on marbled canvas,
the placement of God
by haphazard wind
or careless bird midwifery.
Royal purple
against holy white,
silk against satin.
Fissured anchor
sufficient to sustain,
spontaneous beauty
within eons grip,
beauty upon splendour.
Yielding breeze blown dye
soft and fragile
dancing on unyielding rock
at once a cradle and a grave.

"haphazard" = excellent word choice

I like those words "beauty upon splendour." My goodness: "t once a cradle and a grave." Think of that. Amazing words, I must say.
There are many amazing word choices in this poem. I'm not very good at understanding poetry sometimes, but I found this one quite captivating.
