Web

Web

Laced and latticed
undulating pattern in gentle breeze
the secret is revealed.
Yesterday a clandestine web,
today each silky entrapment
announces its presence with frosted disclosure.
Yesterday danger lurked here,
today a mere embellishment
a delight for passing eyes.
Somewhere, not far away,
a spider curses winter’s chill
and paces sticky fingers
for a new enticement.

Wonderful photo Keith and the verse is even better.

I love your blog because your words spin out from the photos (no pun intended). Sometimes it's hard to pick which I like best. But then, I don't really have to -- I just enjoy both.

That is so cool! I have lived in wintery climates my whole life and never seen a frozen spider web. Excellent. You poem almost makes me less afraid of spiders. ;)

Interesting concept Tanya - read a poem to cure arachnaphobia - maybe I should patent it !
