Doorkeeper

Doorkeeper

The fragrant breath of incisive words
did not blow gentle on the moments heat
again.

The dream leapt out of sight
as your tenderness cracked:
parched and thirsting,
in the world created
within the confines of your day.

Again
I failed to open your gated pasture
to richer fields.

Hi Keith,
You captured that regret so perfectly! Why is it that the doorkeeper of our minds disallows us the pleasure of remembering our dreams? I love your photos and poetry. Your site has inspired me to let fear go and give poetry a try. Thank you! I agree, your blog is a great book.
