The tide comes in

The tide comes in
with its blood;
progressing backwards
an Armageddon
of past mistakes.
‘We will remember them’
in their daily commitment.

We forget
in the amnesia
of now,
the clouded fog
of today,
and the politics
of self.

I love this one . . . . but then I love them all! Your poetry is not only beautiful, but thought-provoking, philosophical, and insightful. I'm off to find a couple for the holiday issue of Ruby. Thanks so much for sharing! Nina
