Into the beyond

Into the beyond
pass the open doorway
to a tomorrow
that has never existed
but lays unborn
in the womb of imagination.
Yet this is mapped
in the mind of God,
this is a numbered page
as yet unturned,
a dream to dress in
for the royal gala.
Step through the door
for you cannot
remain this side
today glides away:
a station en route,
a meal eaten,
water slipping through
your fingers.
Your deeds
footprints
washed away
by relentless time.
