28. Looking inward with rusted eye

Looking inward with rusted eye
a spiral staircase to the past
reveals the journey
not the destination.

Looking inward with rusted eye
the intercourse of moments
spawn and breed
boundaried by the passing.

Looking inward with rusted eye
folded like dough
sticky with the unforgiven
blended, mixed, and muddled.

Looking inward with rusted eye
to perceive the end of the tunnel
requires a shift of position
or the swing of a mood.
