They do not sing as I sing

They do not sing as I sing

They do not sing as I sing,
their jumbled song
a burble of contorted face.
Their rainbow thought
bumbled, tumbled down
a chaotic assault
on alternative reality.

They do not dance as I dance,
their semaphore waving
unintended cacophony
explosions of pleasure.

They do not sing as I sing
but their eyes
are symphonies of joy.

I make no appologies for this being a piece I wrote some time back - it just seemed appropriate to the CW theme of 'JOY' for April.  The photo and the poem refer to my grandson Connor who attends a 'special' school and was written after attending a harvest festival there.

This poem is so wonderful. I shows so beautifully how everyone sees things differently and yet God loves us all. I think it applies not only to the 'special' people it was written for, for to any of us. We all see the world just a bit differently and sometimes we don't 'get' one another. yet god made us each unique, yet in His image.

I hadn't been lucky enough to see this before. It's wonderful and so filled with truth. To God, all the singing we do must be gloriously joyful!

Beautiful how God's joy dances across our lives and touches every available heart and mind. I think special little ones like this may lead worship in heaven.

I love this poem and the photo of your precious Grandson! Thank you.

No apologies necessary! Wonderful poem from the heart of a grandfather. What better way to define "joy" than that?

This really is a special poem Keith. I would say that there is a lot that many of us could learn from people like this.

We do not write as you write, Keith . . . but we're the vessels of the joy you nurture in each of us. Thanks for sharing your gift.

Beautiful poem, Keith. I think we all should take a cue from these sweet children and their uninhibited expressions of joy. :)
