On the morrow

photo: michaelmas daisy

Sunshine moment in michaelmas days,
the smile of warmth in Autumn’s glaze,
and Winter’s calling card displayed.
Gold and crimson wait in the wings
for the regal displays the season brings
with frosty glister and colder things.
Then days diminish and night ascends
with trembling hands and cooler friends
to proclaim a death that he pretends.
But it’s merely sleep that operates
as when small bodies hibernate
the warmth of love will liberate
on the morrow
on the morrow
on the morrow.

I've never heard of a Michaelmas daisy but I appreciate it's beauty in your photo and the lovely words that unfolded below it.
