Stonehenge

pic: Stonehenge August 2011

Cathedral, calendar, map
these monoliths hide their secrets -
Chinese whispers in history.
Sculpted rock, daily proclaiming a quest:
a desire to move from unknowing,
a search outside for something within.
The genetic drive to celebrate
pushed, pulled, sweated and cried
these giants into place.
Lost now,
like eroded letters on a gravestone,
time has stolen their meaning.
Now we search for their search,
new savages, dissecting and analysing
not for our celebration
but for theirs.

Praise God the rock we look to isn't made of stone but incorruptable and eternal. Nice piece Keith!
