A rose

I could fall into your petalled folds
and breathe your scented smile.
I could trace my fingers round your hem
and linger here a while.
For beauty captivates my eye,
my every sense enthralled
in wonder at your perfect form
your pink enfolding shawl.
Summer starts as you unfold
from bud’s embracing grip
and untold eyes admire with awe
this wondrous workmanship.
For though you’re here today,
and tomorrow you’ll be gone,
such beauty is not wasted
when all is said and done.
For your charm and innocence
has touched another heart
and, though shortly lingered here,
it pains me to depart.

Ahhhh...lovely, Keith! My absolute favorite images are captured in your first four lines.
