the congregation of May

Waves of blue
ripple their ringing heads -
meeting the sun
and the sounding breeze:
the congregation of May.
Bees and butterflies attend
enjoying early glimpses of Summer
and the lengthening of days.
Deer loiter in shadows,
hiding from the alarming
stench of man,
waiting for dusk
and the closing of flowers.
The sky is filled with song
as the animal kingdom
does ‘church’.

Beautiful Keith. It is such a breath of spring air reading this. This has totally lifted me from the depressive self-obsessed poem I just finished reading at another site. Why I continue to read postings there I don't know, but I do know why I read them here. Your postings are true and heartfelt. Thank you Keith for singing.

I love it! Beautiful photo, and wonderful words - such wordpictures, perfect. I love all of it, but particularly "does 'church' ".

I also love that last line. Sorry I'm so delayed in the blog roll follow up. I always love your pictures that so enhance the words.
