For the love of flowers,
their blanket petals
cosy against the breezes,
the bee adventures
its journeys
from bloom to bloom.
He is a burglar,
beguiled, enticed,
lured by beauty
to this bounty.
He is a pirate
gathering booty
for his queen
and the garden
is his seven seas.
His black and yellow flag
jolly-rogering
the oceans between
blossoms.
The price on his buccaneer head
is the bestowing of fruitfulness
in his plunderous visitation.
