the anticipation,
the choice of
stone
and where to aim;
the place to
stand -
water or on sand,
knee deep or dry:
the decisions climb.
When to loose,
how strong to
throw -
up or down or
skimming;
Is anyone
watching
as the Olympian prepares.
And ……..
it’s gone.
Then the
delicious applause
of water’s reply.
